How do people develop this scarcity or mediocre life mindset? This is a question I have been chewing on for a while now. The people that really make me question, are the “Christians”. As followers of Jesus, we live by what the truth says, what is in the Bible. Most of us believe that Jesus was born to a virgin, healed people, even resurrected people, even His own resurrection, but when it comes to the simple stuff, like living an abundant life, physically, spiritually, and financially (this one is the hardest), they get skeptical.

I see this in my business all the time. People will do great, make great changes, but then when it comes to really stepping out of their “comfort zone”, they won’t do it. Their little box that they live in is just too comfortable. Therefore they will stay right at the their current leadership level. They will use their kids and family’s as excuses. But those of us who are leaders and have a passion for really taking it and helping thousands, we make those sacrifices right from the start, so later, we never have to make them again. NO FEAR.

I think the reason it frustrates me is because I really believe, “If I can do this, anyone can do this”. I was so normal and ordinary, and I have done it. BUT, I just have this fire in me, this hunger in me, that made me TAKE ACTION, on every goal I have ever set.

Did you know that if every person who goes to church, and “claims to love Jesus” were to tithe their income that the Lord blessed them with, it would end world hunger. I don’t get it? They hold on to their money, (it’s not even their’s) like there isn’t any more…..that is classic scarcity mentality. BTW…..tithe is 10% of your income, everything that comes into your hands. Think about it, the Lord lets you keep 90%, what’s the problem? They say, “I can’t afford it” I pay my bills, and then there isn’t anything left” Well, that’s the problem, you pay the Lord FIRST….it comes right off the top. It is a Faith thing, I get it.

They think throwing a $20 in the plate, is good. Guess what, whether you believe in Jesus, or the Bible or not, it is just a sowing/reaping principle. It’s a law. So, if you are not sowing anything, how can you expect a harvest? Sow a little, reap a little. Sow your tithe, reap a harvest. It is best explained in the parable in Matthew 25

14 “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. 15 To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag,[a] each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16 The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. 17 So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. 18 But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.

19 “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20 The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’

21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

22 “The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’

23 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

24 “Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’

Like Pink Floyd said, “If you don’t eat your meat, how can you have any pudding, you can’t have any pudding, if you don’t eat your meat”.

Yes, we are surrounded by skeptics, people who are ok with just being ok. Just going to their 9 to 5 job, raising their kids, going to bed, then getting up and doing it all over again. They don’t even think about “how can I be a change in this world”, because they are so concerned with their comfort. They can’t see any further than “American Idol” at 8 pm. That is as far as they can think. They look forward to sitting there…..watching other’s achieve their dreams.

I just don’t get it. I love what Psalm 23 says….It lays it out how the Lord wants us to live…Let’s take a look at it.
A psalm of David.

1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,[a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me

your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies

You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,

and I will dwell in the house of the Lord

See all the bold words, I highlighted them for you….you’re welcome. I take the Bible literal. ALL OF IT. I don’t pick and choose which truths I want to believe. I know have my path paved for me. It is when I go my own path that I fail. I don’t do that anymore…Neither should you.

Your greatness is NOT in that little box you live in. It is outside of your comfort zone.

You are never going to grow any more if you don’t step out and do something that scares the crap out of you.

People have a fear of so many things. Mostly fear of dying……WHY? Those that are “in Christ” have a celebration when we go home, because we know what is waiting. So, those who are “fearful” of everything, including dying, is it because they are not sure where they are going to end up?

What do you have to lose? Why not at least attempt to live extraordinary. It is what the Lord has for you, for all of us.

We are the hands and feet of Jesus, we are here to do “good works” to glorify HIM. When we are out there doing good works, this is how you have an extraordinary life. You have purpose!

I have always said, “when you are going through a rough time, the best way to feel better is go and help someone” It is an awesome distraction. And while you are serving, you just might find a passion. It just might set you on fire!

I am a girl who has been on fire for Jesus since the day I said YES to Him 10 years ago. I went ALL IN….like I do everything!

What is the worst that could happen? You just might find something you never thought you were looking for!

Get out of your BOX and go do something that scares you!
