Ok…I really don’t know where to start, except I have been a “Christian” all my life! Thanks to my amazing Grandma Dorcas, yes Dorcas. AKA Tabatha.
Acts 9:36-43King James Version (KJV)
36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
This was my grandmother!! She was always doing, I get that honestly. I use ” Christian” in parenthesis, for “loosley” It has been a journey, as any walk is. I grew up in a Methodist church in a little town full of little old ladies, who loved to bake and love on us kids. Most of all they actually formed my wise council. The wisest in my eye of course is my grandma! But all my life I have had faith, I have believed in God and knew that Jesus was his son, and was filled with the Holy Spirit. And all the little old ladies old souls!
This past year I have joined a Grace Baptist Church in Sidney, Ohio and am learning the Bible like I have never known. The written word in black and white, no substitutions! But yet I struggled with “pleasing my Grandmother” If I could only ask her what she thought, if I was on the right path. I went to a Women’s Conference with the ladies of the church and had such an amazing time. BUT still wish I knew what she would think. Then…she showed up..REALLY!
The preachers wife that was giving her speech in the evening service, spoke on Acts 9:36-43. All I could do was CRY!! I guess I got my answer.
When I say “Christian”, I went to church, I went to Sunday school, I was in youth group, I did confirmation. I had no idea what all that was. I had great teachers and I am so appreciative for the little old ladies and men of Rosewood. But it wasn’t until now, that I “get it”
It is a daily work in progress, but I am making progress. Some days are good and some days are bad.
I am new to Women at the Well, and very excited to see where God takes me. He has merely just said you need to “help”, so I just jumped. Rachel and I grew up together, she was one of my first friends when I moved to St. Paris. Inspired by her transformation, I know God has great plans for this ministry and those who serve and those who need it!!
I am a mother of 2 AMAZING boys, Jakob 16 and Luke 11. I have been married to my husband Tony for 21 years.
I am an entrepreneur by passion! The passion for inspiring others and a medical technician ( analyze blood).
My spiritual gifts are Faith, Teaching and Mercy! and my great Aunt on her death bed said I was a “good prayer”! What a compliment!
I know God has his hand in all of this and I am “ready” Praying to make disciples and grow His Kingdom… and I am along for the ride. ( trying to be Obedient)
