Jody Collins

Executive Director of Design Inspiration

Jody Collins grew up around St. Paris, Ohio with a Christian mother and an indifferent father (he is a believer now, praise the Lord!). Her father lived with the “you need to take care of yourself because no one else will” attitude and often said “you need to look out for #1”. Although Jody attended church regularly as a child, she bought into her dad’s philosophy striving for independence and “not needing anyone”. How imprisoning this was! She now has Peace knowing the LORD is the ONE who takes care of her. As she surrendered her control, she felt more freedom in Christ than words can describe. Jody attends Grafton United Methodist Church, St. Paris, Ohio. She is a member of the women’s Bible study group there and sees how the Holy Spirit is working in these ladies (and the entire congregation). She also attends a Bible study with a group of ladies from different churches every Friday, women supporting other women for God’s glory, SO AMAZING! Jody has been blessed with 2 daughters and has passed on her creative mind to them, one lives in NYC (Fashion Designer) and one attends the University Of Cincinnati (Graphic and Web Design). She has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for 30 years and works part time in Urbana, Ohio. She considers herself to be a Holistic Hygienist, not just concerned with her patient’s dental health but their complete health, physical and spiritual. She and her husband of 3 years, Merlin were led to work on a dental/medical mission team in Jamaica in February 2016 through Ginghamsburg United Methodist Church, Tipp City, Ohio. In 1981, Jody was a German exchange student and still travels to Europe every few years to visit her German family that she loves dearly. This experience opened up her world to God’s beautiful creation and she has a passion for exploring new places and cultures. Jody’s goal is to be a support person for all women but especially those going through divorce, to help them see God’s plan through the storm. She has weathered a few storms with the help of Christian mentors and is still working at her second marriage. Her faith in the Lord’s plan and learning to give GRACE have empowered her. She wants to look out for #1, minimizing self and maximizing our Savior, he is #1. The Lord has called her to witness about the comfort she feels in HIS ARMS.
